As part of our topic-based home school, we have been doing back garden wildlife-themed study. I thought that I would share the list of items which I brain stormed when I was thinking of this topic, to help inspire you for your own home school.

We used some sheets that I made to aid our learning about; birds, owls, foxes, butterflies, squirrels, badgers and hedgehogs. Activity ideas
- Bake bird nests (Easter style)
- Build a birds house
- Go bird spotting
- Make bird food
- Experiment to see how strong a birds hollow bones can be
- Visit an owl sanctuary
- Dissect owl pellets
- Raise your own butterflies (using a set)
- Bake butterfly cakes or cookies
- Butterfly string art
- Paint a butterfly wind chime
- Paint butterfly pictures learning about symmetry
- Use online tutorials to draw animals such as foxes and badgers
- Bake a hedgehog cake
- Go on a woodland walk looking out for signs of wildlife
