Homeschool topic: The UK

Please note that this post does contain affiliate links.

We are learning about the United Kingdom in our homeschool at the moment. It is really interesting and I am learning a lot too. Here are our ideas to help inspire you if you are planning on doing a UK topic too.

Interactive notebook pages

We used some worksheets that I made to help aid the learning. There are boxes on all of the counties in England. A wordsearch with the English counties but please note that I made this before realising that the counties had changed since I was at school! There is also a page for your child to use to write about the county that they live in.

If you would like to grab a free copy of this then just head over to my freebie library. If you have never been in the freebie library before then you will need a password which you can get sent to you by signing up to my newsletter in my side bar. You are of course free to unsubscribe at any time.

Useful books

The kids learning tube is a song which covers all of the counties or regions in the whole of the United Kingdom. It is great for young children but also good for older kids in a tongue in cheek way. Faith thought it was harilaos and I found it quite catchy once we got into it!

The Spotlight on the troubles documentary is not for young children. You should watch it first and decide on if appropriate for your older children.
