Hello and welcome to my September news! September has been a busy month for us, so much has been going on.
Back to home school
It was back to homeschool for Faith at the beginning of September. We have started the school year with a wildlife topic. Then we are doing our extra sessions for maths and English each week too. Faith has nearly finished our reading book ‘Awful Auntie’ by David Wellinghams which we had just started before the summer break. We are also doing some work on vlogging each week as Faith is really interested in learning more about it as she wants to set up her own channel. It has been a nice start to the homeschool year and I am pleased with how we are getting on.
Cambridge ARU Press Trip
I went on my first press trip to Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge. The event was to raise awareness of the different nursing degrees at Anglia Ruskin Universities and it was a very enjoyable and informative event. I was so nervous as I had never been to Cambridge before, so I had no clue as to where I was going! I was really proud of myself for attending and proving to myself that I can do these things by myself!
Our 17th wedding anniversary
On September 9th it was our 17th wedding anniversary! We have been together for nearly 24 years in total so we are doing well! We didn’t buy gifts or do anything fancy this year as money is really tight. Instead, we just got each other a card and had a Chinese in our bedroom! It may sound boring but we were both more than happy with that and we had a very enjoyable evening.
Faith’s first taste of ‘love’
Faith came out to me as being pansexual a couple of months ago. I was shocked at first, mostly because she is so young. Also because I did not actually know what pansexual meant! For those who do not know, pansexual is when you are attracted to people for the person as a whole. It is not based on their gender or sexual identity. This is how I understand it, and it may not be completely correct. I apologise if I have not got this 100 percent as like I mentioned, this has been a fast learning curve for me!
Faith then got her first girlfriend at the beginning of the month who was absolutely lovely. I do not click with many people (I am very socially awkward and it takes a long time for me to be myself and trust people). However, I felt an instant connection with this girl who we will call May. The only problem was that she lived an 80-minute drive away so every weekend in September we were driving back and forwards so that they could see each other. I met May’s mum who again I instantly clicked with and then on the last weekend of the month they broke up. It’s funny, but I don’t know who was more heartbroken Faith or me! I and the girls mum are going to try and stay friends and we hope that the girls may get to a point where they can become friends again too.
I went to see Ryan Gooding who is described as the modern medium. I have always believed that there is more than just this life but I am happy for others’ opinions and believes. This was the first time I have ever been to a group event and it was really nice. Ryan is very good at what he does, he has a real likeability to him and so many people were so happy with the messages that they received. No one came through for me but I didn’t mind. I just enjoyed seeing other people get their messages. It was a great night and if you ever get the chance to attend a group night seeing Ryan Gooding then I would highly recommend you go if you are interested in these types of things.
Blog on toys!
I went to my first ever blogging conference!! I was so happy to get to go and experience such a great event. This is something that I have been wanting to go to for many years but something would always come up. So this year I made it my mission to attend! It was absolutely amazing, I had so much fun and learned so much! I would highly recommend any fellow bloggers out there to go to the next one if you have never been. I will be writing a full post of my experience but it may be a little while. Unfortunately, I have gotten very behind lately with my blog posts and I have a huge list of unwritten drafts that I need to get through!
So that is all of my news for this month. If you would like to follow more of what I get up to then please do take a look at my Instagram account. I post on my grid daily and update my stories a few times each day. I hope that you have had a good month too? As always I love to hear from you so please do get in touch.
