Objective and game play
My son-in-law-to-be brought this game to one of our game nights and when he read out the rules I thought it sounded really hard. As I am not that great at picking up card games I did not hold much hope for the game.
I was wrong! It may sound complicated when you first read the rules but once you actually play a game you will understand completely in no time at all.
So, each person is given a ‘diffuse’ card and then seven random cards. The exploding kittens are then shuffled into the remaining cards and the pile is put in the middle of the table.
You take turns playing cards that you hold or drawing cards from the pile on the table. If you pick up an exploding kitten and you do not have a ‘diffuse’ card in your hand then you are out. The last one standing wins the game.
The cards are illustrated with cartoons and are rather quirky but suitable for both kids and adults alike. There are special cards that allow you to do things such as peek at the top three cards in the deck or take a card from another player which makes the game more strategic but you still need a bit of luck to win as well.
