The Coronation Street Tour: A Review

Lauren standing outside Dev's shop on the Coronation street tour

Last month we were in Manchester and we went on the ‘Coronation street tour’. We also stopped in at Birmingham the next day to visit the worlds biggest primark too. Our experience of the Coronation street tour Having never stepped foot in Manchester before, the directions and parking information given on the website were actually pretty good. We arrived within plenty of time before the tour was due to start. We were given a lanyard and badge to wear and[Read more]

The world’s biggest primark trip

We recently took a trip to Birmingham to visit the world’s biggest Primark. Now I know that Primark is not for everyone, however when you are on a super low income and love to shop then Primark is a dream come true! Ever since I heard about the store opening in Birmingham with five floors and a Disney cafe I and my oldest daughter knew that we wanted to visit. As we were heading to Manchester to take Lauren on[Read more]

Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk Review

3 images which contain - 1. Ed Sheeran puppet. 2. Photograph of the back of Ed Sheeran looking at the castle on the hill. 3. Man and woman looking at one of the exhibits in the Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk exhibition.

We recently visited the Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk exhibition which is in Christchurch mansion. This is a free exhibition but you do need to book free tickets to attend to avoid overcrowding. Opening dates for the display The exhibition is smaller than I thought it would be but it was still very interesting to see a glimpse into Ed’s journey from a young child to world wide superstar! Personally, I am not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan (I do[Read more]

Foxes Farm Corn Maze Review

Man pushing pram through a corn maze

We took a trip to Foxes Farm, Aldham to have a go in their corn maze and see their pumpkin patch. We were gifted the entry to the maze but all thoughts and opinions are my own. This was the first time that we had ever visited Foxes farm but it was easy to find and had loads of parking available. It is £1 to park and you pay when you leave the farm.  We were blessed with beautiful weather[Read more]

Harry Putter golf – Felixstowe

We decided to visit Harry Putter crazy golf in Felixstowe as we were studying Harry Potter as part of our home school. We had heard that it was supposed to be based on Harry Potter, hence the name! The golf is a 13 hole indoor course at the back of Charles Mannings amusements on the sea front. The golf is priced at £3 a person which is pretty reasonable as other crazy golf courses we’ve seen have been charging triple[Read more]

Sea Life Adventure

A lion fish

As part of our under the sea home school study we decided to visit Southend Sea Life Adventure aquarium. We purchased our tickets online as you get a discount that way. It cost us £34.85 for two adults and a child. When you enter you can get your hand stamped so that you can come and go as you please throughout the day. Inside the sea life centre as you would expect, there are lots of interesting sea life creatures.[Read more]

Ipswich comic-con

child dressed in cosplay as Deku for comic-con

Ipswich Comic-con On Sunday 30th June we attended our first ever comic-con and it was conveniently located  in our home town. Over the last year, Faith has really gotten into anime and cos play so when she asked to go to comic-con I was not surprised. We purchased our tickets in advance as that allowed entry an hour before the doors opened to the pay on the gate crowds. We had no idea what to expect or how busy it[Read more]

Crabbing in Suffolk

Man and his daughter on the beach crabbing and a small image of a crab

Last weekend we went crabbing in Bawdsey which is on the Suffolk coast. We had a great time although we felt a little daunted too. We had never been before so we were not quite sure as to what we were doing. Now that we’ve been, I thought I would share some information about crabbing in case you have never been and wanted to give it a go. What you need You actually need very little to go crabbing. We[Read more]

A family day out at Chessington theme park

Chessington theme park and the zoo is a great family day out as there is so much to see and do, enough for more than a day, I wish that we had gone for two days.                    There are a good variety of rides which cater to younger children, all the way up to the brave thrill seekers! The park is divided into different themed areas and everything is very well signposted.[Read more]

Natural history museum

On a recent trip to London, we decided to visit the Natural History Museum as we had heard so many good things about it. However, I must say that although we did have a nice time we were not as impressed as we had thought that we would be.  It is very large and there is easily enough to see to last the day but unfortunately, most of the interactive parts were broken which was rather disappointing. FJ didn’t seem to[Read more]
