A family day out at Chessington theme park

by Denise Johnson August 10, 2018 2 Comments
Chessington theme park and the zoo is a great family day out as there is so much to see and do, enough for more than a day, I wish that we had gone for two days.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort LogoThere are a good variety of rides which cater to younger children, all the way up to the brave thrill seekers! The park is divided into different themed areas and everything is very well signposted. There are large map boards dotted around the park, paper maps available on entry and a free app which you can download on your phone.
Dragon Falls
Tiger Rock
Tiger Rock is the latest attraction at Chessington. It is a log flume which takes you around a viewing area of a family of four endangered Amur tigers adding to the fun of the ride. FJ really enjoyed this ride and viewing the tigers as she is a huge animal lover.
The Vampire – my personal favourite!

CJ and FJ’s most favourite ride!
The free app was also really useful as it told you all of the approximate queue times for the rides. This made it much easier to make the most of the time we had there and greatly reduced our waiting times as we could plan the best time to visit each attraction.

There is also a zoo area which is perfect for after lunch when you need some time for your food to settle before more fun on the rides. FJ loves the zoo and we have visited the zoo before when the theme park was closed. For this reason, we did not spend too much time to look at the animals this time as we all wanted to get on as many rides as possible before the park closed.

We took a picnic and drinks with us to cut down on cost as we are on a low budget so I can not comment on the food and drink in the park,  but there are lots of areas where you can eat your picnic which is great.

All in all, we had a great family day out and look forward to returning to the park again soon!

Please note – we did not receive any kind of compensation for this review, I just chose to write it as we had such a nice time at the park.

Do you have a favourite ride at Chessington? Or have you never visited before? I love to hear your comments and always reply to them. If you have enjoyed reading this then please share with your friends!

Hi Denise, Chessington sounds like a fun day out for all the family and how handy that app sounds? There is no reason to spend half a day queueing for rides these days. Give me a nice picnic lunch over eating out anyday, it's far more fun and the food is more easily digested when you aren't paying silly money for it.

Thank you for popping by and linking up with #keepingitreal.

    xx

I agree, prices for food and drinks in theme parks can be really over priced. The app was brilliant, we really enoyed the day. xx
