101 in 1001 update

We are now just under halfway through this challenge so I thought that I should update you all on my lack of progress so far! For anyone who has not heard of this before, you basically set yourself 101 goals to complete in 1001 days. There is a free website where you can monitor your progress and see how others are getting on.

No one could have predicted a pandemic five months into my challenge so I feel that it has somewhat hampered my progress. I also know that I need to step it up as there are still many goals that I could have been achieving regardless of the pandemic.

Progress so far!

Completed goals

Email list – I have set up a small email list that I have been emailing. Perhaps not as often as would be ideal but I am still taking this as a win!

Paint my hall, stairs, and landing – This is done in light grey and I love it. It makes the house look so much nicer and more homely than the white that we use to have.

Decorate my bathroom – This is all finished now. We decided on a turquoise blue but just on the main wall. We then painted the rest of the wall space white and I added tile transfers to a few of the white tiles. I upcycled an under sink cupboard and painted the same blue paint on the doors.

Redecorate my living room – I absolutely love my living room. We added a feature wall of wallpaper and then painted the other walls the same grey that I have in my hall, stairs, and landing. We have two black corner sofas, a grey lampshade and a standing lamp, and silver curtains. It has taken a long time saving for the new things for the room but all we need now is a new sideboard and tv unit.

Get a penpal – This was much easier than I imagined now that we have social media. Just type penpal into a search on Facebook and lots of groups of people wanting penpals will pop up.

Take Faith crabbing again – We went to Walberswick for our second crabbing experience and had a great time.

Visit a theme park – We went to Thorpe Park for Chloe’s 21st birthday main gift from us.

Organise my make-up and jewellery – All organised and I even wrote a post with tips if you need some help getting your own make-up and jewellery organised.

Get a new hoover for pet hair – Just this week I have checked this one off my list! They had a great sale on Shark hoovers and they do ones that are specifically suppose to be good for pet hair which we desperately need as one of our dogs sheds big time all year long.

Start a new blog series – After the success of my relationship A-Z series I wanted to start another series on the blog. This was when board game analysis was born.

Go a week with no fizzy drinks – I went a lot longer than a week due to feeling really unwell and the only thing that settled it was not drinking fizzy. For a diet coke addict, that was hard! However, over Christmas, I have slipped back into bad habits so I need to get back on track now.

Failed goals

Throw me a 40th birthday party – this is a failed goal as I could not do it with COVID-19!

In progress

I have five goals that are currently in progress which means that I have started them in some way. They are;

  • Visit three different counties in England that I have never been to before.
  • Learn ten useful phrases in Spanish.
  • Watch 26 movies that I have never seen, starting with each letter of the alphabet.
  • Use my Happy Planner every day for a year.
  • Update 20 of my old blog posts.

Not yet started!

This leaves 84 goals not yet thought about! I have approximately 18 months to complete them so I had better get busy!
